Five commitments that turn "why KEMHOW exists" into something we can actually measure ourselves against.
Encourage a deeper understanding of worldviews — and show where Islam stands above them
Most comparisons of belief systems stay shallow, built on caricature rather than the real content of a worldview. We want people to understand other ways of seeing the world properly enough to see, on that same honest footing, where Islam's account holds up better.
Build a more harmonious and tolerant attitude toward different ideas
Understanding someone's worldview is not the same as agreeing with it. We want disagreement to come with respect attached, so that people holding different ideas can still sit in the same room.
Make comparative study easier for the public
Comparing Islam with other ideologies is usually left to specialists writing for other specialists. We want to lower that barrier, so a curious member of the public can follow the comparison without years of prior study.
Give the majority a reasonable understanding of Islam
Many people's picture of Islam, including many Muslims' own, is shaped by habit rather than reasoning. We want a wide audience to understand Islam's foundations well enough to explain them, not just repeat them.
Rationally counter irrational and incoherent thinking
Some ideas spread because they're rarely examined closely. We want to meet incoherent thought with patient, rational argument — not dismissal, and not volume.
